dev silence on a core protocol repo usually means one of three things: maintenance mode, a governance shift to a new repo, or the team is heads-down on a v2 that hasn’t hit public branches yet. for ens specifically, the smart contracts are fairly mature. most action now is on the frontend and the eth registrar. still, zero commits on the contracts repo for a month is a data point worth watching.

ens has been quiet before and nothing blew up.
