It has been a little while since my last update. After implementing several UI changes and various bug fixes to NostrFeedz, I wanted to share my vision for where the project is headed.

Current State

Currently, NostrFeedz stores your followed feeds in a custom kind on our relay. We designed it this way with the eventual goal of moving toward native clients rather than staying strictly on the web.

Why Native?

I believe native applications are the best path forward for “freedom-loving” apps. Native software offers:

  • Greater Control: You own the environment, not a browser vendor.
  • Performance & Aesthetics: Better integration with system UI and smoother performance.
  • Offline Access: Native apps don’t require a 100% constant internet connection to function.

The Roadmap

Starting this month, I am beginning development on Android and Linux apps for NostrFeedz. These apps will sync using our custom Kind, allowing users to store their followed feeds directly on their devices for offline viewing.

I’d Love Your Feedback

I am curious to hear your thoughts: Is a shift toward native apps something the community is excited about, or do you feel the web remains the best platform for Nostr?

Please share your thoughts and let me know what you think!
