We Know Why We’re Here
Let’s not pretend otherwise.
degMods exists because a lot of modders have been pushed out, talked down to, bullied, or flat-out gatekept elsewhere. People asking honest questions get mocked. New creators get told to “go learn first” without being taught anything. Communities that once shared knowledge now hoard it.
That didn’t happen by accident. It became normal. It became policy in practice, even if not on paper.
This site was always meant to be different.
My intention has always been to build a space where experienced modders pass on what they know — not as power, not as status, but as craft. Where learning is encouraged, mistakes are normal, and curiosity isn’t treated like weakness.
Modding survives because knowledge is shared. It dies when it’s gatekept.
If you’ve been told to fuck off for asking a question, talked to like a child, or made to feel like you don’t belong because you’re new, different, slower, older, neurodivergent, or just not interested in clout — you already understand why this place exists.
degMods is not about drama. It’s about refusing to accept abuse as culture.
If that resonates with you, you’re welcome here. If you want to teach, learn, document, or just build without being sneered at — comment, contribute, or quietly follow along.
We know why we’re here.
