Our Mission: Why We Made 21 Pulse

Hello world, and thank you for visiting our page. I’m Heiko, a sport-obsessed Bitcoin maxi, miner, vibe-coder, community builder, sun-lover, father, and founder of 21 Pulse.

In this blog, I’ll explain how 21 Pulse came to exist and where we are heading. It’s important to uncover the work behind the growing Bitcoin ecosystem and show that we, the humans of Bitcoin, are the ones striving for a better world. If you are a bitcoiner, a developer, or an educator, I hope you’ll share this journey with me.

How it all began

So, how did I hit upon the idea to create a Bitcoin app? First and foremost, I wanted to build something that I would use.

21 Pulse actually started as a mining statistics app with a built-in calculator. I’m a big supporter of mining Bitcoin as a way to support the network and convert energy and fiat money into non-KYC Bitcoin. I wanted an app I could open, gain a snapshot, and use daily.

I’m not a developer with years of experience, so I needed it to be simple, display well, and be easily accessible, all in one place. Nowadays, we’re so used to checking our apps, it felt natural to start there and build one for myself and others.

The app started as a hobby project: something I could recommend that friends download and use. I never had any commercial goals in mind, so I was determined to make the app data-collection free. There’s no login, no account, and we don’t collect a single byte of data. Any data you input is stored on your device. Privacy and resilience against hacks and data breaches are highly important in Bitcoin. I wouldn’t want to give up my data just to use a dashboard app, and I bet you wouldn’t either.

Two different user profiles

After creating the app (using Grok, Claude Code, and later hiring a developer), its use case changed. I added more Bitcoin features and statistics to satisfy my own need for a quick daily snapshot. Some of the early feedback I received was that users wanted:

All the stats and info in one place. (A Bitcoin-only info dashboard app did not exist before 21 Pulse)

Separate profiles for two types of users: beginner and advanced.

Beginner users are likely to want more information about the fundamentals of Bitcoin in one place. In the next version, I added Bitcoin FAQs, the latest Bitcoin news, a quiz to test their knowledge, and links to reputable exchanges.

On the other hand, more advanced users wanted the tools to USE Bitcoin. In the advanced section, I added calculators for DCA, profit and loss, sats to dollars/euros, and a SatMap with all the places they could spend Bitcoin.

One of the things I’m looking forward to most is when ‘beginner users’ switch to the advanced profile in the app. That is the moment when 21 Pulse users go from ‘bitcoin curious’ to ‘bitcoiner’.

Supporting the local economy

I didn’t just build this app for me. In the Canary Islands (where I live), our Bitcoin community serves to help local people understand and use Bitcoin. Especially on an island that strives to be more self-sufficient, Bitcoin is a great help. Circular economies help everyone involved. I hope that soon, we will see many more merchants on the SatMap accepting Bitcoin here in Canarias.

Now, we are a small team working on the project. We speak German, English, and Spanish, and we added news and resources in these three languages to help more people access the latest and most accurate information about Bitcoin.

What’s next?

Our vision is that 21 Pulse becomes the daily check-in for Bitcoiners — the app they open every morning and the first thing they recommend to a friend who asks, “How do I get into Bitcoin?”

We are building the foundations of a trusted, recognised name in the Bitcoin ecosystem, known for clarity, reliability, and doing things the right way. What this means for the future of our business will become clear as we gain more beta users and move towards full launch (late 2026).

My promise: We will never compromise on our principles of simplicity, promoting Bitcoin use, and protecting your privacy.
