The white paper calls BTC a Cash system, is it ok to use it for other purposes?
Better to use things for what they are made for.
If I would be mining, I would be blocking transactions that are not part of a Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System. This is not about censorship, its about using the system for what it’s made for.
I think many people who oppose mining pool TX data filters will find a use case that, If implemented, it would mean crossing a line line in the sand for them.
This project has a purpose, and the purpose is to act as a form of “electronic payment system based on cryptographic proof instead of trust, allowing any two willing parties to transact directly with each other without the need for a trusted third party.”
Some people have Eth jelly and want NFT’s in BTC. BTC is not ETH. To keep the network doing what its supposed to do, we might as well just use it for what it was made for.
