3D spatial data, wifi vision, and governments removing trial by public jury
A concerning co-incīdence between wifi vision, 3d spatial mapping, and the UK govt removing the right to trial by public jury

It's nice to avoid Bad News but it doesn't make it go away. And if we don't protect & defend the rights and freedoms of humanity then the world will be even worse for the next generations.\

Pokemon Go's makers, Niantic Labs, has been collecting image+3D data for years, giving them a centimetre-accurate spatial map of... nearly everywhere. While Niantic Labs has just been bought by Scopely, a game studio, the non-gaming component of Niantic has branched off into "Niantic Spatial", whose name tells you enough already. They are now partnering with Coco Robotics to provide the 3D spatial data for the robots to do deliveries, and stuff. Deliveries are fine, right? Not like this is laying the infrastructure for anything potentially nefarious, right?\
Right?\

WiFi can "see". Well, it is a type of light, after all. And routers do have multiple antennae, thus have perspective. And the wifi's EMF does operate across multiple bands within both the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bandwidths. And the router software already uses 3D tracking to determine where you are and the structure of your house, to provide the best wifi signal to your devices.\
\
Well, it turns out that that data is much higher resolution than we might have assumed... or, not assumed, because who really thinks about the invisible world permeating the visible world?\
\
Routers' "wifi vision" can literally visualise you, your stance, your movement, your location, your interactions with others, and can combine this data over time to build a profile of you. Apparently it can also detect things like bone density, body temperature, etc, and I have a vague memory of reading about this a year or two ago.\
\
Combine all of that and what you do get?\
\
A giant ocean of pre-installed surveillance infrastructure.\

(Bonus info-hazard!) (Sorry)\
The UK govt has already scrapped jury trials for crimes with sentences of under 3 years -- which was encoded by the Magna Carta in 1215, 811 years ago:\
\
"Clause 39 stated that no free man could be imprisoned ‘except by the lawful judgement of his peers' – social equals – ‘or by the law of the land'. This evolved into the principle of trial by jury, which was later confirmed in the Habeas Corpus Act 1679." (quoted from the UK Parliament website)\
\
This means what? Well, that we are now at risk of being judged by "arbitrary governance"; that is, if the judge decides we're guilty, then we are sentenced. The ramifications are massive -- it results in The Individual silencing themselves for fear of being arrested and trialled without a public jury. (So that includes things like becoming fearful of partaking in protest marches and saying disallowed words & phrases.)\

\
Let's summarise:\
\
1\. Centimetre-level 3D spatial data being granted to robotics companies.\
2\. Wifi can see you, track you, identify you, and this data is likely to be usable and accessible by "law enforcement" (and other h4ckers?), let's be honest.\
3\. The UK govt (and others often mimic) has scrapped the right to trial by public jury for crimes with under 3 years of sentence.
