The Holy Seven Hieromartyrs of Cherson were bishops who suffered martyrdom for their faith at the hands of non-believers in the early 4th century. Bishop Kapiton famously survived entering a fiery oven unharmed, convincing the Scythians to convert to Christianity, though he was later martyred. Their story was widely discussed at the Council of Nicaea.

• Seven bishops of Cherson, including Vasily, Ephrem, Eugene, Elpidius, Agathodor, Etherius, and Capiton, were martyred for their faith.
• They served as missionaries to spread the gospel in the region.
