This email is to inform you that we will are upgrading our air filtration system for all future builds and can offer this upgrade for all current builds for Hash Huts and Hash Combo datacenters only. Hash Generators or Mini cubes do not qualify due to how they are designed.

Our current filtration system uses the blue natural fibre filter roll which is designed to be very breathable but the downside is it lets in fine dust and fine snow. Historically fine dust has not been much of a concern but we have been getting more requests for fine dust filtration.

More concerning is this winter customers have experienced a couple events where the fine snow was lifted up by the air flow and put the mining computers at risk of damage. This was a new learning for us as we have been running the Hash Hut design style for over two years now without winter incident. I believe the issue now is mainly caused by the fact that this year we upgraded the exhaust fans, so the added velocity of the air appears to be able to lift the fine snow up to the elevation of the racks. I consider this an unacceptable risk as the building is designed precisely to combat this issue, so we have been working hard to design and build and upgrade which includes a pre-filter on the outside of the building and inside under the shelving the filter box is modified to handle off-the-shelf pleated furnace filters.

This filter upgrade will prevent the vast majority of fine snow or dust from getting into the building and generally should be a welcome upgrade for customers who want more filtration in general.

For existing customers, we will build you the upgrade at cost and for new builds it will be built in by default going forward.

If you would like the upgrade it only qualifies for Hash Hut and Hash Combo datacenters, Hash Generators and Mini cubes do not apply.
