§Hackathon Summary

The ICP - WCHL25 - Qualification Round took place online from July 1 to July 25, 2025, and drew notable participation from the global developer community. The event received 11,774 developer registrations and approved 1,551 project submissions across five tracks: AI, Bitcoin DeFi, Fully On-Chain, Real-World Assets (RWA), and Open Track. Serving as the initial phase of the World Computer Hacker League, the hackathon focused on decentralized applications built with the Internet Computer Protocol (ICP).

Submissions explored areas such as decentralized intelligence, Bitcoin-integrated financial applications, fully on-chain systems, real-world asset tokenization, and diverse Web3 use cases. A key objective was to deploy minimum viable products (MVPs) to the mainnet, broadening the scope of the ICP ecosystem and highlighting both technical proficiency and creative approaches.

Participants competed for a total prize pool of $30,000 for this stage. The event offered technical support, project exposure, and advancement pathways. High engagement and quality submissions contributed to developer development, increased ICP adoption, and highlighted emerging trends in blockchain technology. Notably, the top 50% of projects progressed to the National Round, maintaining momentum toward the global finale.

The Qualification Round recognized achievements in 16 categories with 48 sub-awards, emphasizing advancements in decentralized technology, AI, DeFi, and Web3 infrastructure. Each category conferred 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes. The following section provides an overview of the top projects, grouped and ranked by country or region.

  ckPayment – Introduces a smart contract-based payment SDK, providing developers with decentralized, trustless integration for payments akin to Stripe on Internet Computer.
• 2nd Place:
  Infinity Task Protocol – Implements an on-chain freelancing platform using modular architecture to enable secure and scalable project collaboration with minimal intermediaries.
• 3rd Place:
  Design Guardian – Facilitates the tokenization and display of fashion designs as NFTs, connecting fashion, digital art galleries, and gaming through blockchain.

§Brazil Prize Winners

• 1st Place:
  Kaisen – Combines AI-driven personalized learning with blockchain-based credentialing, resulting in a user-focused dApp for validated educational records.
• 2nd Place:
  BeneChain – Uses the ICP blockchain to streamline and transparently manage employee benefits, targeting efficiency improvements for both employers and employees.
• 3rd Place:
  TaaS – Offers a fully on-chain protocol for automated fact-checking in Web3 applications, leveraging community input for validation.

  Hosty.live – Enables deployment of GitHub-hosted frontends as live websites on ICP canisters, simplifying decentralized hosting.
• 2nd Place:
  Satsurance – Establishes a decentralized insurance marketplace allowing BTC holders and risk experts to underwrite or purchase crypto risk coverage.
• 3rd Place:
  AVAI Agent – Automates AI-driven security audits for ICP smart contracts, producing enterprise-grade audit reports.

• 1st Place:
  Prometheus Protocol – Develops a decentralized protocol for AI agents to monetize and pay for tool access via on-chain micropayments.
• 2nd Place:
  Consensus – Designs a protocol-level HTTP proxy for ICP, enabling efficient and consensus-safe external API communication.

  Ad Network – Delivers a fully on-chain advertising protocol supporting decentralized ads and transparent rewards for developers.
