Stacks Latam Hackathon: Winner Summary
Hackathon Summary
The Stacks Latam Hackathon was held online from October 6 to 26, 2025. The event gathered 216 registered developers and approved 39 projects (BUIDLs), each designed to advance the Web3 ecosystem across Latin America. Organized by the Stacks community in collaboration with DoraHacks, the hackathon aimed to increase engagement with Stacks technology in the region. Project domains included DeFi, decentralized social applications, asset tokenization, developer tooling, and sBTC-based innovations.
Participants submitted a range of projects, such as decentralized lending solutions, NFT platforms, and tools for improving blockchain interoperability and asset tokenization. The hackathon awarded a total prize pool of $5,000 USD in STX tokens. In addition, top teams received invitations to the Stacks Foundation Hacker House and the Bitcoin Builder Event in Buenos Aires, expanding their opportunities for networking and further development.
Throughout the event, participants benefited from community support, online workshops, and direct mentorship from industry experts. These resources facilitated collaboration and provided technical guidance, helping projects progress from concept to launch. The hackathon also broadened regional connections, showcased the technical skills of Latin American developers, and provided access to post-event opportunities, including acceleration and integration into the Stacks ecosystem. By the end of the event, the hackathon had contributed to community growth and encouraged adoption of decentralized technologies within Latin America.
